On Saturday, September 25th, Harmony In The Woods held a benefit concert for the Human Resources Foundation featuring Pete Muller & The Kindred Souls. Together, the organizations raised $20K for HRF (Human Resources Foundation) who advocates for those with disabilities by working to further disability rights by promoting inclusion, diversity, equity and social change within our community. HRF works to remove barriers for those with disabilities, as well as the stigmas and stereotypes that hinder or hurt individuals with disabilities in our neighborhoods and region. The funds raised will provide financial support to their sister organization, the Human Resources Center to improve upon its existing programs and services. HRC offers annual Grants to charitable organizations whose programs, services, or special projects align with their mission and also offers annual scholarships to individuals who wish to pursue an education in Human Services, Social Work, or Special Education.

“Harmony In The Woods is grateful and in awe of the support we collectively received for HRF. We thank all of the individuals and businesses who donated to this incredibly deserving organization and supported our event. Human Resources Foundation, and it’s sister organization, Human Resources Center does so much good work in our local community and beyond. For many in our region, quality of life would simply not be the same without HRF. Making the decision to do a benefit concert for them in our inaugural year was uncomplicated. We thought of them immediately and proceeded without hesitation. We look forward to doing many more benefit concerts for other deserving nonprofits in our area in years to come,” says Jill Carletti, Creative Director of Harmony In The Woods.

Dan Card, Executive Director of The Human Resources Foundation remarks, “The Foundation and its Board of Directors were very excited when the Harmony in the Woods Committee approached us about this fundraiser. We would like to thank all of the Harmony in the Woods Committee as well as a special thank you to Henry Skier who coordinated this project. It was a pleasure working with these special people that came together to make this benefit concert a success. We cannot forget to thank Pete Muller and the Kindred Souls for their donation and a wonderful show. This Benefit Concert had an overwhelming result because of everyone working together. This will certainly help the Foundation to fulfill its mission to enhance the quality of life and well-being of individuals with disabilities throughout NEPA.”
